The Elisabeth Murdoch Scholarship

In 1985, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch established a Scholarship Fund aimed at developing expertise in and knowledge of deafness. The fund is administered by Taralye - the oral language centre for deaf children.

Early childhood, educational and health professionals are invited to apply for a Scholarship to undertake studies in the field of deafness or in areas of research which add to an evidence base for family-centred early intervention services for hearing impaired children. Studies need to be undertaken at graduate Diploma, Masters or PhD level in the State of Victoria.

Applications from professionals residing in rural Victoria are encouraged

Applications are now open and should be submitted by no later than Friday, 4 December 2009 at 5pm.

Taralye is a leader in the design of early intervention services to deaf children. It provides a model program aimed at developing children's oral language by building on residual hearing. Taralye's services promote inclusion and family-centred practice and aim to maximize social and educational outcomes for deaf children.
